When I was in Texas last week, I had the privilege of meeting Cindy Coffman, who has recently become an orphan advocate.  About two years ago, Cindy was listening to some radio broadcasts with Focus on the Family and FamilyLife, where the broadcast highlighted God's heart for the orphan and vulnerable children...and invited Christians to act.  And act...is exactly what Cindy did.  Just over one year ago, she helped found and launch Embrace - the foster care and adoption ministry at Rhea's Mill Baptist Church in McKinney, TX.

Specifically, Embrace is rallying people in Texas to champion the needs of waiting children - those in foster care and those awaiting adoption.

Cindy is one of my heroes... she didn't just stop at "hearing" God's word...she became a "doer" also! (James 1:22)
