Introducing....Lifesong Guatemala!!

We are excited to announce a new orphan care initiative in Guatemala called Village of Hope where Dan & Christi Ucherek and Todd & Amy Block will be serving.

Aldea de la Esperanza (Village of Hope) seeks to minister by providing love and wisdom, for brokenness to be made new. Our prayer is that the hurting would come in and find hope in faith, family, and a future. Village of Hope is caring for special needs orphans in San Lucas, Guatemala by teaching them about the love of Jesus Christ. Village of Hope is also partnered with Manna Worldwide to provide a feeding care center to the children in the San Lucas Community. In addition, we are committed to community outreach.

The vision for Village of Hope was born out the knowledge that God has a heart for the least of these. Scripture reveals a God who is passionate about the sick, the widow, the orphan, the alien, and the poor.

"You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate" (Luke 6:36)

Equip Yourself to Take a Stand-Pt. 4

As a follow up to this post introducting Red Card Kids, we're highlighting lessons 5 and 6 in the Red Card workbook!

Lesson 5: Child Laborers

-Missions of children are forced to become laborers at a young age. They are denied the education needed to improve their family's situation.

-Pray for God to protect these children from physical and emotional harm.

-Memorize Psalm 72:12 - "For he (God) will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help."

Lesson 6: Children of War

-Adults wage war, but children become its youngest victims. They experience horrors that their tender hearts and minds cannot process.

-Pray for God to restore children who have experienced the painful trauma of war.

-Memorize Psalm 91: 2b, 5 - "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust... You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day."

Kids Caring 4 Kids visits Lifesong Zambia

"I'm just a girl who wants to make a difference for other kids."

In 2004, 11 year old Kendall Ciesemier organized Kids Caring 4 Kids after undergoing 2 liver transplants in one summer.  Her heart went out to kids who also had physical challenges but no family or resources to help them.  So instead of flowers and gifts, she urged family and friends to donate to her new organization and partnered with World Vision so she could help kids suffering from the affects of AIDS!

Now, KC4K has also partnered with Lifesong and others and is on a mission to raise $1 million to help children in Africa!  In Lifesong Zambia, KC4K has funded indoor plumbing and a "sick bay" for the school.

This past friday KC4K had the great opportunity to visit our Zambia school.  Check out Kendall's blog here where she recaps their day!
