Give Thanks to God for You - Lifesong India

We are blessed to share this update from Bob Stoll,  Lifesong India liaison,

"You deserve a sincere thank you for your faithful participation in this ministry. Your prayers, gifts and obedience to the Holy Spirit have encouraged us and made possible a notable miracle in the multitudes of lives which have been changed spiritually, materially and physically.

Receiving Christmas presents

It has been a blessed privilege for Siromani and me to be a voice communicating on behalf of the kids in India.  It is also our duty toassure you of their appreciationfor the blessing you have provided year after year for more than thirty-four years. We have gladly undertaken this responsibility because we believe this is our calling for God's glory.

You have built six homes where you are providing total care to 570 children. They receive a new set of clothes at Christmas (enjoy the Christmas pictures!), education through college, food, toilet articles, and Bibles.

Christmas Celebration

You have also been faithful to provide continual help to nearly 60 poor pastors and gospel workers, 130 indigent widows and elderly and have built nearly 40 new churches for remote village congregations.

We send their sincere thanks and our to you and assure you that our friends in India 'pray for you and give thanks to God for you every day.'"

A Day in the Life -- Lifesong Liberia

Meet Andrew.  Andrew was 9 years old when he came into the loving care of Lifesong Liberia 'Home of Champions' School & Orphanage.  Andrew was rescued from the Belle Forest, a 'refuge' where many Liberians ran to during the 14-year civil war that ended 9 years ago.  A war that took the lives of over 500,000 Liberians.  Inhabitants of the Belle Forest still believe that the war is going on and because of their fear have never left it's barren bush.  This has left many hungry, uneducated, fatherless children...children like Andrew who come to the home in a terrible condition... starving, lost and alone.

But we know that beauty can come from ashes. Joy from the place of mourning. Praise instead of despair. Home instead of a wasteland. Family replacing loneliness. Isn't this how our God works? Andrew is just one more example of how our God delights in transforming a life through His great love for us and for the splendor of His own glory!

"...he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning,  festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory..." Isaiah 61:3

Adopt an Orphanage - Sveta's Story

Inviting you to create more 'Sveta stories' through your church! We don't want you to miss out on this....

It is our honor & joy to partner with churches in adoption funding as their families provide homes, families, a sense of belonging, and the love of Christ Jesus to orphans all around the world.  For each precious child that is adopted into a loving family, there are so many children that are not adopted. Children around the world that are longing for family or just the love from someone that knows their name and their story.

We would like to give churches the opportunity to help care for orphans who may never be adopted.  You can help them through our Orphan Care programs.  In each orphanage, we are providing Christian mentors whose purpose is to build trusting, loving relationships with the children--the ultimate goal of guiding them toward fruitful Christian lives. While Lifesong is helping to "bring joy and purpose to orphans" - the job is too big for us to do alone....we need your help. We invite you to participate in what God is doing on behalf of the fatherless through the "Adopt-an-Orphanage" program.

Would you and your church family to prayerfully consider making a 2-3 year commitment to "adopt" one specific orphanage/facility? This "Adopt-an-Orphanage" commitment could include:

  • Yearly Mission Trips
  • Letter-writing sponsorship (we'll translate for you!)
  • Finanically support ministry

Want to see how it works? Check out video that creatively depicts our 'Adopt-an-Orphanage' program...

Thank you again for your faithful partnership to bring joy & purpose to orphans! May God continue to bless and grow your ministry for His glory.

Family Friday: David & Erica

I don't know about you, but this picture speaks a thousand words to me. Words like love. Ransom. Family. Joy. Excitement. Hope. Belonging.

I still remember receiving this picture last May from Erica and how it spoke to me. In that moment, God spoke deeply into my heart and urged me to stop and in stillness reflect on this picture, causing me to realize His deep love and how He choose to adopt ME into His family...

Listen in as David & Erica, who were blessed with a matching grant from the James Fund in partnership with Lifesong for Orphans, share some of the thousand words that come out of this special picture:

God used the ministry of The James Fund to bless our family and help bring Zahra Reign home forever.  When God called us to adopt again we knew it wouldn't be an easy task financially, although this was our second adoption we were once again in a new kind of uncharted territory.  Fundraising.

God used our fundraising journey to show us more of himself, His love for us and for His children.  It allowed us to see the body of Christ at work in a tangible way on behalf of us and our precious daughter.  Over and over again God moved in HUGE ways to confirm to us that we were to stay the course and trust Him to provide.  When we saw our daughter on a waiting child list and knew she was meant to be ours--it was a bit overwhelming knowing what would be ahead of us financially.  God again confirmed His provision for us and for Zahra.  We moved forward in faith requesting her file and saying YES to this precious four year old little one.  The money needed each step of the way was never late, rarely early, always right on time.  Through our James Fund Grant and the amazing support of our Lifesong Family we were given the opportunity to not only have a tax deductible option for donors but a match for the money donated.  This was a HUGE provision for us, making it possible to complete our adoption.

Here we are months later: Zahra is thriving, we are so blessed to parent this precious little girl, celebrating her life, and watching the redemption process as she learns about the love of a family.  She is speaking more and more English, adapting to her new surroundings, loving her siblings, and soaking in every moment.  We cannot thank everyone enough for what God is doing in and through the James Fund & Lifesong for Orphans ministry.  We are truly humbled and blessed.

-David & Erica

Thank you so much David & Erica for letting us share in this exciting journey and be reminded of the great Father who adopted us!
