friends like these...

So this year's Summit was just awesome!  So many great nuggets of truth and wisdom spoken into my heart that I pray I will never forget!  In addition to some wonderful speakers, break-out sessions, performances, and people (both newly met and old friends) we had a great showing from some friends of Lifesong!  Check it out!

Thank you to all our wonderful supporters out there!  We couldn't do what we do without you!  (sorry if you wore a lifesong shirt to summit and didn't get your picture!)

Look what we found...

Well, we're here in Louisville, at the Orphan Summit!  Woohoo!  And last night co-Lifesonger, Leah Gerber, and I came across the church book store.  Upon wondering in we found our very own Gobena coffee!

"Why?" you ask were we at the Summit a day early?  Simply to attend, and volunteer at, a Desperation Band and Meredith Andrews concert (in case you're wondering, we are now officially "in with the band")...

featuring Tom Davis (president of Children's Hope Chest)...

What a GREAT kick-off to a powerful weekend!

We at Lifesong look forward to the next couple days to meet many of you and hear your stories!  Also if you're wearing a Lifesong t-shirt we would love to get a picture, so don't be alarmed if a crazy looking girl in a yellow LS tee runs up to snap your picture... it's just me.

See you at the Summit!

Are you going to the Summit this week in Louisville? We hope so! If it's anything like the years past, it will be an amazing opportunity to be refreshed and connect with others!

Even if you can’t join us in Louisville for Summit VII, we invite you to join us in prayer.  Please pray especially:

  • That God would prepare each person coming both to give and to receive much at Summit.
  • That the countless details and the myriad of volunteers, speakers, exhibitors, and attendees would all come together smoothly.
  • That seeds sown and cultivated at Summit would bear much good fruit—for the fatherless, the Church and God’s glory for decades to come.

Summit VII is rapidly approaching and boy do we have a give-away for you!

But first, let me tell you about a little perk for summit attendees who are also in the process of adopting.  Four of the breakout sessions offered ("Attachment and Trauma" 1 and 2, and "Becoming a Multicultural/Multiracial Family" 1 and 2) are available for Hague credit.  The breakout session, "Depression after Adoption," although not included in Hague requirements, will count (by many agencies) towards adoption training hours.  That's what i like to call a win-win.

And for another win...

We are hosting a little friendly competition among our followers to win one free registration to Summit VII in Louisville, along with 2 free nights in a hotel!  Exciting, right?!

Here's how it works:

1. suggest that your friends "like" Lifesong for Orphans on facebook.

2. tell them to comment on our wall with "your name told me to like Lifesong"

3. whoever has the most friends comment on our wall (on their behalf) wins!

You have till midnight central time Wednesday, April 20th.

Questions, comments, concerns?  Leave a comment here and we'll do our best to answer!

If there are any ties, we will draw for the winner.

aaand...

GO!

Are you excited?

I am!

Two of the (many) things I'm looking forward to about this year's Summit is a couple of their special features

1. LIVE: Art and the Orphan

&

2. PORTRAIT OF A FAMILY: a drama by Sarah Carleton

mmm... I love using the arts in ministry.  It brings joy to my soul.

You can check out more special features here or if you want to plan your break out sessions click here.  We're only 2 months away and I can't wait to see you there!
