In memory of Nikolas Saynor...

This past weekend 3 year old Nikolas Victor Saynor had a seizure in his sleep and past away unexpectedly.  Nikolas was born in Russia with a double cleft lip and palate, then was adopted into an incredible family, who also is a part of the Tapestry Adoption Ministry

We so appreciate the outpouring of support and love during this very difficult time. I've attached a photo of Nikolas' last night with us (Oct 31st) ~ Joanie Saynor

The Saynor family has created a living legacy in memory of Nikolas - such a precious child in their lives!

Many friends, family and supporters have offered to make a donation in loving memory of Nikolas. The Saynor family has set up a Memorial Fund (in lieu of flowers) through Lifesong for Orphans.  All tax-deductible donations made to the Nikolas Saynor Memorial Adoption Fund will be used to give Adoption Grants & Loans to help bring down the financial barrier to other children being adopted.

Wait No More

Check out what our friends Kelly Rosati, Katie Porter and the Focus on the Family's icareaboutorphans.org team are doing!...

Right now, more than 700 legal orphans in Colorado foster care are waiting for adoptive families.  Colorado has over 3000 churches, and God has given clear commands for Christians to take care of His orphan children.

So if the command is clear and the need is apparent, why are these kids still waiting?

Lifesong for Orphans in WORLD magazine

God is inviting His Body to love orphans...some to care, some to adopt, some to give.  WORLD Magazine recently highlighted one very tangible way of a church caring for orphans - through Church Adoption Funds.

Read the article....Check out how Lifesong for Orphans, the ABBA Fund, Shaohannah's Hope, FamilyLegacies, and others are coming alongside the church.

I think this is a good example of how para-church ministries have the opportunity, responsibility and privilege to lavishly equip the church...and to generously serve the church!...

got purpose?...

Meet Wayne Steffen...

Wayne had a very successful management career in a pharmaceutical company and was able to retire about 6 years ago...but he didn't exactly "retire". Wayne is in a season of life when he could be doing just about anything he wants to do - spending an inordinate amount of time in the retirement years on things that don't matter a whole lot eternally (frequent golf, exotic vacations, other hobbies, etc.)

This season of life is ripe for "finishers" to redirect their time and talents into Kingdom activities.

The Christian ‘baby boomers’ today are some of the most: biblically literate, experienced and talented with expertise, have the greatest wealth….and yet are some of the least utilized people in the Kingdom

(Dennis Rainey – President, FamilyLife)

So how is Wayne spending his time, talents and treasure?....Wayne is living this season of life in a meaningful and purposeful way - advocating for orphans.  Wayne has faithfully and generously donated his time volunteering for Lifesong's mission in a variety of ways nearly everyday for the last 6 years.

Wayne's heart has been captured by the orphans and vulnerable children in Zambia, Africa.  He voluntarily serves on the Lifesong-Zambia Vision Team and is the Country Liaison.  Wayne works directly with Lifesong - Zambia Director, John Mumba, in directing the Lifesong School currently serving 140 orphan children.

1. The same management skills that Wayne successfully used to mentor, encourage, and guide his employees in the pharmaceutical company....

are the same "people skills" he is using to mentor, encourage, and guide our Lifesong-Zambia Director and staff.

2. The same operational, mechanical, and electrical skills Wayne used in managing tactical operations of a poultry farm...

are the same skills Wayne has put to work in significantly improving the water supply, safety, and renovation of the Lifesong School

Wayne, Steve W, Bill S, Dru S, and a team of other folks successfully created a supply of consistent, safe, drinking water for 140 orphaned and vulnerable children - by installing a new water tower, renovating plumbing, etc. Check it out!...

The 143,000,000 orphans around the world today need more Wayne's... they need Christians to serve them with their skills (project management, IT, construction, relationships, mentoring, electrical, social work, networking, building teams, leading small groups, etc.)
