Keynote Speaker: Emily Chapman Richards

Emily Chapman Richards, eldest daughter of Christian recording artist Steven Curtis Chapman, will share her compelling story of faith that began as an eleven-year-old child with a heart for adoption and continues today as an active worker on behalf of orphans through Shaohannah’s Hope. Emily has two biological brothers and three younger sisters adopted from China. The Chapman family has been featured on various media outlets such as Good Morning America, Larry King Live, The Huckabee Show, Fox and Friends highlighting their adoption story and continued advocacy work on behalf of the 130 million orphans worldwide. Foster Care Prayer Vigil | May 17-24

...calling followers of Christ together across the country during the week of May 17-24 to cry out to God on behalf of children and youth in our nation's foster care system, their families, their workers, and the church as it responds to the needs of those involved in the foster care system.

A prayer vigil can take on many forms. It can be a formal, church-wide event, or it can be an informal gathering with your family after dinner.  The possibilities are endless, check out some ideas

Is God calling you to be the voice for your city? See the map for a listing & locations of vigils already scheduled.

Gather together.  Pray for the kids.  Watch God work.

No want for food, clothing, medical care | Honduras

Find a Need. Meet a Need...

That's how Lifesong's partner in Honduras (TOLM) is serving the children in the 2nd poorest country in the western hemisphere...

DE-PARASITING PROGRAM: Motivated to evangelize, several ministry teams set out, in late March and into April, to cover 23 different municipalities and there perspective schools, distributing pills for parasites. To paint a clearer picture as to how many individual schools were visited, one group alone visited around 55 schools. These groups set out on a Monday not returning until Thursday or Friday.

Children were de-parasited and many heard the Good News of Salvation - receiving Christ as their Savior.

  • a community water pump worked but it only provided them with very dirty water
  • another community did not even have a school building to meet in and so held classes in an adobe brick building that was badly deteriorating
  • in many of the places they visited the children did not even have bowls or glasses to receive their lunch with
  • one other area did not have bathroom facilities or running water
  • also found was a nine year old girl that was unable to attend classes because of a heart condition that her parents could not afford to take care of, contacts are being made to help her with this condition

another way Lifesong for Orphans is striving to fulfill Our Pledge... to "our children"

  1. No want for food, clothing, medical care, or shelter.
  2. Fundamental Christian training and discipleship.
  3. A quality education to provide a foundation for the future.
  4. Continued love and support as they transition into adult living.
