An ear of corn....or a corn field

For all of you agriculture folks out there...

I think you'll enjoy seeing how Lifesong for Orphans is helping develop crops for the children at the Lifesong-School in Zambia, while teaching them work ethic at the same time...

Borrowing from the old adage:

Don't just give a man an ear of corn, give him his own corn field!

Why can't we do this in more places in Africa?

the Orphan Run | 130 marathons in 130 days...

Tim with a vulnerable child in Honduras, named Pedro...

This dude can run. I mean flat out run.

A few years ago Tim Borland ran 63 MARATHONS in 63 consecutive days to advocate for children with a vulnerable disease.

Tim made the trip to Honduras with us last week, as our Lifesong Vision Team traveled there last week, and he is planning for the Orphan Run 2010.

The Orphan Run will bring much needed awareness to a critical need around the world, the orphan crisis. Tim Borland will attempt to run 130 marathons in 130 days to honor and recognize the 130 million orphans of the world.

In-Country Solutions | Ukraine Orphan Care

A recent note from our Ukraine Director, Denis...

...Lifesong for Orphans is currently working with about 285 children ages 6-19 in the Matvievka area.  Lifesong staff are currently serving in the orphanages 7 days a week conducting:  CCP (mentoring) lessons, one-on-one counseling, music, crafts, job skill training and sports education.

Two young boys have recently become Christians.

Please pray for:

1. Kids and orphanage staff/administration at the orphanage

2. More Ukrainian families to become foster parents.  We currently are able to  place only 16 so far, we need families for 34 more children. It's a big need.

Thank you for your continues support of the work we do in this region of Ukraine!

Yours in Him,

Denis

"Our Children" will have:

1. No want for food, clothing, medical care, or shelter

2. Fundamental Christian training and discipleship

3. A quality education to provide a foundation for the future

4. Continued love and support as they transition into adult living
