Both Hands Celebration

We are rejoicing with Both Hands Foundation as they had their yearly Celebration last month to reflect on last year's success and to look forward to 2012.  Over 130 people attended which included 7 Both Hands adoptive families and 3 widows that have been served through this ministry. We join them in praise for the $20,000 they raised at this special event.

My favorite moment was looking into the crowd to see so many friends who have sacrificed time, treasure, and talent to make Both Hands a reality and to have them say it’s been worth it! To be able to thank them, recognize them, and challenge them to do more, was a thrill for me. - JT Olson, founder of Both Hands Foundation

It's Open!

Registration for this year's Summit conference, put on by the Christian Alliance for Orphans, is open!  This will be my third Summit and, let me tell you, I am very excited!

With speakers like Karyn Purvis, Russell Moore, and Dennis Rainey and musical guests like Sara Groves, not to mention the hundreds of orphan advocates from around the world that will be attending!  Sounds like a weekend I won't want to miss!  Good thing I'll be there along with the rest of the Lifesong crew!

If you want to register click here and we'll see you in May!

ETC Success

I attended EmpoweredToConnect and it was -- amazing!  This is a content-rich conference, with valuable insights on parenting children from hard places. There are real challenges in parenting -- and ETC provides REAL solutions, with real HOPE!  The messages are shared with the love, care & compassion of your grandma, and at the same time...deep, meaningful counsel and guidance.

This is a must-attend for every adoptive or foster parent.

-Andy Lehman

The Empowered to Connect conference, sponsored by Show Hope, was held at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Nashville, TN on September 10-11 and was an all around success.  Not only did the 400+ attendees, from 20 different states, receive powerful training and advice, but more than 150 child welfare professionals or adoptive families received Continuing Education Credits or Adoptive and Foster Parent Training Certificates for their participation in the event!  Very cool.

Big thanks to Show Hope, Dr. Karyn Purvis, and Michael & Amy Monroe for the huge amount of work that went into this event.

Empowered to Connect conference

Coming soon to Nashville, TN...

Dr. Karyn Purvis and Michael and Amy Monroe (Lifesong partners through Tapestry) will be speaking encouragement and sound Biblical advice to adoptive and foster parents at their Empowered to Connect Conference on September 10-11.  Hosted by Show Hope this will no doubt be an event worth attending.

I have had the great privilege of hearing all three of these speakers only to be left (a little teary eyed) challenged and well equipped.  Want to know more?

Take a look:

You can also go to empoweredtoconnect.org for more materials like study guides, articles, and videos!

Have you heard Dr. Purvis or the Monroes speak at a conference?  Maybe you've read The Connected Child or even gone through the Created to Connect Study Guide.  Leave a comment and share with us what you learned!  We'd love to hear from you!
