Mahesh, A Changed Life - Lifesong India

Mahesh came from a very poor Hindu family where food was scarce and they owned no land to profit from.  When Mahesh was in the first grade, he was able to move into our Chitty Memorial Home where he studied business, math and chemistry up until the 12th grade while also learning about the only true God. Thankfully, through the movement of the spirit, he and his family gave their lives to Christ!  Now at age 24, Mahesh works as a Conductor for a State Road Transportation Corporation.  He shared, "I don't want to think about what my life would be like if I didn't have the opportunity to live at that home (Chitty Memorial Home)..." His favorite memory from the home was when he was in the 11th grade. They fasted and prayed for 3 days praising God and thanking Him for all the people who came to Christ through daily prayers and devotions that year.  Mahesh's life would be so different had he not had the opportunity come to our school and hear the gospel of Christ! Thank you again for your prayers, support and interest in Lifesong India. We praise God for this one life that has been changed!

A Completely New Path - Lifesong Honduras

We are blessed to share this update & story from Guy Henry,  Lifesong Honduras,

"600 students finish the school year with their lives marked & changed forever! 80 graduates are launched into the future!

The following story is from the life of a graduate who overcame the 'trials' of her home life and the odds that were stacked against her.  Not only has her life been marked and changed, she has been completely redirected, all to the Glory of God...

Those leaders that were present can still remember Darlene's interview. She entered and left the room with the same shy stance. Her hair was long and curly, framing her big brown, downcast eyes. Perhaps she was shy and nervous, but perhaps she also was feeling a sense of shame. Her mother was pregnant with her fourth child and admitted that her children each had different fathers. Based on this young ladies natural beauty and the little bit of innocence that she still had, her need to be accepted for the next year was apparent, an overwhelming need to protect her was felt by all.

Darlene has excelled in her studies and always has had high percentiles. She graduated with honors and was nominated "Female Student of the Year". Her attitude has always been respectful and cooperative, teachable and receptive to the guidance of both the leadership staff and her teachers. She is a strong young woman and a beautiful example of how God can lift a head that was once cast down. She is determined to not repeat the pattern, and instead a completely new path."

Something better...

Imagine living in a house made entirely out of concrete, that heats up like an oven in the hot sun. Imagine a bare lightbulb hanging from the ceiling as your only light.  Imagine having no toilet facilities or running water, but instead getting all your water from a community hand pump.  Imagine having parents who worked in the field, barely able to provide from day to day.  Imagine no hope, growing up in a hope of idolatry and severe poverty.

To Sindhu Babu this kind of life was normal.  It wasn't until he (at age 10) came to Lifesong India that he knew there was something better.  Something far better.

Today, at age 18, Sindhu Babu not only has a hope for a future as he studies to become an electrical engineer... not only does he live in a clean home with clean running water... and not only has he heard the word of God, but in 2003, his parents, who for years worshipped idols, gave their lives to Christ!

Praise God that He continues to replace hope for despair in the nearly six hundred children we work with and their families!
