Sarah's Birthday of Purpose

Meet Sarah.

Sarah just celebrated her 6th birthday last month. You would expect to see dolls, games, and maybe even a bike on her birthday list, right?

Wrong

For the second year in a row, Sarah has asked that instead of gifts for her birthday, money be given to Lifesong for Orphans as we care for children around the world.

Recently we recieved this note, along with a check to Lifesong from Sarah's mom,

Enclosed is $500 to help fund the adoption of an Ukrainian orphan into a Christian Ukrainian family through your Adoption without Borders program. Our daughter, Sarah, chose to collect donations for Lifesong in lieu of presents to celebrate her 6th birthday. God bless you and your efforts at Lifesong!

Isn't so refreshing to know that because of the selfless choice of ONE child, an orphan in Ukraine can become adopted into a forever family!

Sarah, thank you SO much for the example that you have shown us of what Christ's selfless love looks like. We pray that God our Father would bless your heart and life as you live for Him!

Updates from Village of Hope & Gift Basket!

We are blessed to give you an update from Village of Hope/Lifesong Guatemala from missionary Christi Ucherek,

"It takes a village to raise a child!" - African Proverb

When God called us to start Village of Hope, we knew that HE would put together the pieces and bring those that He would have serve alongside us. We are completely blown away by all the people He has been sending our way... but, then again, we really shouldn't be blown away by how great our God is and how HE provides to bring His work to completion.

As we prayed and asked the Lord to provide for the first $20,000 needed for Village of Hope, God's people stepped forward to provide an incredible gift basket. From now until August 1st, you have a chance to win!

The gift basket includes:

HOPE jewelry from Funky Fish Designs

Village of Hope t-shirt (your choice of color and size)

$100 TOMS gift card

$100 Amazon gift card

$100 iTunes gift card

How do you enter?

-share about this give-a-way on facebook, twitter, or blog: 1 entry for each time you share (you MUST contact us atChristi@lifesongfororphans.org to let us know that you shared)

-each $25 donation: 2 entries

-each $100 donation: 10 entries

Village of Hope is a ministry of Lifesong for Orphans in partnership with Project Hopeful. The vision for Village of Hope was born out the knowledge that God has a heart for the least of these. Scripture reveals a God who is passionate about the sick, the widow, the orphan, the alien, and the poor. The purpose of Village of Hope is to provide family, faith and a future to the least of these by providing holistic orphan care to special needs orphans, primarily focused on those living with HIV/AIDS in a family-style setting.

Exceedingly Abundantly Above - Impact Zambia Recap

Wow. Humbled. Thankful. Joyful.

God is so good. So faithful to take care of His own.

This is how I feel after looking back on the 10 day Impact Zambia 100 campaign and seeing the provision of our Father God and how much He loves and cares for His own!

Despite a start that seemed a little slow to human standards, God, in His perfect timing, brought in 50 commitments on the last day to bring us OVER our goal at 115 commitments!  It was obvious how little this was about us and how much it was about HIM.

Together, this team raised $27,600! With the generous match, you helped bring in over $55,000 to build classrooms for our High School students in Zambia. Praise God! It’s amazing to see how much more we can do together!

Thank you Lifesong advocates for PRAYING, SUPPORTING, ADVOCATING, and GIVING for the 253 students at Lifesong Zambia. Especially these 7th graders who will be moving into new high school classrooms this fall!

"Now to HIM who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to HIM be glory in the church by CHRIST JESUS to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."

Allen, Martin & David - Impacted by Lifesong Zambia

***Impact Zambia 100 Update: 56 commitments...2 days to go!

Meet three of our students at Lifesong Zambia...

Alan...both of his parents have died.

Martin...he was beaten & abused by his step-father and mother

David...he was severly neglected by his mother

Now meet foster parents Rosemary & Nicodemus...parents to 5 children of their own, 2 children from family members, and now to these 3 young men! Wow! They are an amazing Godly family who are giving FAMILY to these hurting boys and sharing the love of Jesus with them

Because these young men go to Lifesong school, the staff was aware of the issues that were going on at home and were able to take action and direct them into a loving Zambian family. Praise God for the loving staff at Lifesong Zambia and for Rosemary & Nicodemus!

All three of these young men will be transitioning into High School soon...as you know, we have a building project plan to build new classroons and need YOUR help! Not only do we have a plan, but a donor that is willing to match the funds raised!!

2 days left of the Impact Zambia 100 campaign & 44 commitments to go!  We are SO thankful to those of you who are sacrificing for our kids in Zambia and those of you who are actively advocating on behalf of kids like Allen, Martin & David.
