What could YOU do in ONE day?

Would your church youth group or college campus ministry be willing to spend ONE day to live out James 1:27...literally?

Knowing that God is already at work in your church or campus ministry, Both Hands Foundation & Lifesong for Orphans invite you to roll up your sleeves (and maybe get your hands dirty!) by creatively serving the widow and the orphan at the same time!

Impact Able - Lifesong Zambia

***Impact Zambia Update: 26 commitments - 6 days to go! Will you consider joining the IMPACT?

Hi. I'm Able. I am 14 years old. I live with my mother's sister.  I have lived with her for 2 years.  My mother died when i was 5 years old.  Also, my little cousins, Marleen and Bethshaba, attend Lifesong school in Baby Class. I am in grade 7. My aunt sells vegtables outside our home to help earn an income. Thank you for helping Lifesong.

Able is one of the students that will be entering into the 8th grade.  As of now, we have no classrooms available for him and the other 21 grade 7 students. Will you help build a new classroom for Able so that he can continue school this fall and be part of the 5% of Zambia children that is able to attend High School?

Join Impact Zambia 100 to help build new classrooms for our students...

What's Impact Zambia 100?

We are looking for 100 people to give $20/month for 1 year! And, thanks to a generous donor your gift will be MATCHED dollar-for-dollar! What an exciting time to give!

Contact info@lifesongfororphans.org to be apart of the IMPACT!

Far from Completion - Lifesong Ukraine

Listen in as Denis Poshelok shares an update from from Lifesong Ukraine,

"We always enjoy sharing updates on great achievements of our team and nice projects we have done together.  But with updates like that, the picture of Ukraine orphan care will not be complete...it would look like we have achieved all we wanted and ready to retire! Well, a lot of work is still ahead of us.

Even though we have done a lot, it seems that the work is still far far away from completion. One kid at the time, each who is priceless and very special to his Father.

We would like to share with you photos of the living conditions at the orphanages we work with...they surely tell a story. May these pictures encourage you to do even more for His glory through this ministry.  Try to imagine yourself or your kids being in such living conditions without hope and look in the eyes of those kids. Kids that are trapped and it's not their fault.  We need to help them out...

Thank you for all you do in support of our work. Glad to be in one team with all of you!"

Mission's Night

You couldn't take one step without seeing a child at Mission's Night, hosted by the Apostolic Christian Church in Bloomington, IL. It was a dynamic evening full of different ministries that this congregation has been supporting.  It was their desire to highlight these ministries and have them connect to their church body in a family friendly way presenting the importance of serving in the Kingdom and how they as families can get involved.

Taking Care of the Details - The Forgotten Initiative

Listen in as Jen Young, Forgotten Advocate, shares the impact one 'journey bag' had on a precious foster care child,

A caseworker called to say thank you for the journey bags we delivered. She described one story of a child that came into care with a sibling from a horrible situation that involved a death of a parent. Caseworkers tried to keep the two brothers together, but could not, which was very difficult for the boys.  The caseworker said that when she gave them a journey bag, their eyes lit up. She expressed how excited they were to have their own bag and the joy it brought the kids really touched the caseworker as well.

I couldn't help but tell this caseworker about the 500 bags we received from a church that put each of these bags together.  I told her that while we're glad the bags are appreciated, needed and useful, God cares about this child and took care of the details. His hand was upon this situation and He knew just what this child needed!

The "Journey Bag Project" is just one way The Forgotten Initiative, partnering with Lifesong for Orphans, seeks to bring joy and purpose to the foster care community.
