Gardens, Garments and Graduation -- Lifesong Liberia

Bishop Emmanuel Jones shares about recent happenings in Lifesong Liberia:

During the dry season, much of the land was cleared and crops plantedat the Home of Champions, Marshall.  The older children worked so hard, and we enjoyed our first harvest of sweetcorn, okra, watermelon and sweet potato greens.  We learned alot, and hope to improve our gardening skills next year.

Our two oldest girls (Nellay pictured below) at Rehab are learning how to sew!  They are being taught by our friend, Mr. Dapin, who is a tailor.  Presently they are mending tears and repairing the children's clothes.  Soon, we hope they will be able to cut and sew an entire dress!

We are pleased to announce that 23 of our children will be graduating from kindergarten at the end of the school term in June!  This is a big milestone for them.  They will receive special clothing, and a certificate at the graduation celebration.  We are so thankful for the gift of education.

Thank you all for your continual prayers and support for the children at the Master's Homes of Champions in Liberia.

Active Faith in Prayer -- Lifesong India

Listen in with Bob Stoll, Lifesong India, as he shares about his recent visit to India,

It is always a rewarding experience to interact with children who are obedient, respectful of authority and wonderfully outgoing. They are studious and have a strong, active faith in prayer. While we were there it was exam time at school and because they take their studies so seriously they were continuously asking for prayer "for our studies", expecting that hands would be laid upon their heads by those who prayed.

Our children are hungry for an education because, in the villages where they come from, illiteracy has been the norm.  The photo below shows the record of monetary help this ministry gives to about 150 poor, aged and indigent villagers. Most of them are so illiterate that they cannot even write their own name, thus the thumb prints.
Would you continue to join us in praying for our kids in India? Pray that they would continue to be grow in their education as well as their relationship with the Lord.
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart,
as working for the Lord, not for men"
Colossians 3:23

Construction, Sponsorship & Stories - Lifesong Ethiopia

Please enjoy these updates from Lifesong Ethiopia...

Student Update: Meet Taretkegn

Taretkegn is a nine-year-old student atLifesong Ethiopia. He was very young when both of his parents died.  His grandmother cared for him until he was four and then he went to live with an aunt who had the means to support him.

Taretkegn eventually got to go to school.  This year he is in the first grade and loves it!  Soccer is his favorite sport, so he's always looking forward to recess.  In the classroom, math is his preferred subject.  Taretkegn holds the dream of becoming a doctor someday.

Taretkegn is very thankful for the opportunity to go to school.  He wants to tell everyone from Lifesong that he loves you.

Construction Update: Ziway & Adami Tulu

  • The two-story 14-room building at the Ziway Primary School is ready for the second-story. The workers are preparing to pour the floor of the second story. They are using eucalyptus poles which will support either plywood or metal to form the ceiling.
  • The four-classroom additional school building at Adami Tulu is racing toward completion, with the roof on, the stuccoing of the walls underway, and the forming up of the support for the veranda.

Child Sponsorship Update:

We are thankful to have 119 of our children sponsored! If you are interested in supporting one of the remaining 70 students, please visit the Sponsorship Website.

Exceedingly Abundantly Above - Impact Zambia Recap

Wow. Humbled. Thankful. Joyful.

God is so good. So faithful to take care of His own.

This is how I feel after looking back on the 10 day Impact Zambia 100 campaign and seeing the provision of our Father God and how much He loves and cares for His own!

Despite a start that seemed a little slow to human standards, God, in His perfect timing, brought in 50 commitments on the last day to bring us OVER our goal at 115 commitments!  It was obvious how little this was about us and how much it was about HIM.

Together, this team raised $27,600! With the generous match, you helped bring in over $55,000 to build classrooms for our High School students in Zambia. Praise God! It’s amazing to see how much more we can do together!

Thank you Lifesong advocates for PRAYING, SUPPORTING, ADVOCATING, and GIVING for the 253 students at Lifesong Zambia. Especially these 7th graders who will be moving into new high school classrooms this fall!

"Now to HIM who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to HIM be glory in the church by CHRIST JESUS to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."

Ephesians 3:20-21
